April 26 - Week 16

Picture of the week: Overall Started the week with a restful getaway to Sugarbush Ski Resort. Led a successful MEET THE INSTITUTE session and delivered a strong panel on UN-Retirement at ASA, sharing Leon’s story of planning and hope. Noticed leadership niggles but stayed calm and strategic. Solved my tax withholding issue and refined ten simple rules for wise living. Knee pain eased, hydration stayed steady, and spring walks revealed cherry, redbud, tulip, and magnolia blooms. Played a close Scrabble series with Mini. Watched Dune 2 silently on a flight. Finalized a 15-year travel dream list, and enjoyed a happy Friday working from Cambridge. Takeaways from the Week: Presence matters more than performance. Trusting rhythms—whether in nature, work, or body—builds resilience. Leadership often shows up not in grand moves, but in calm, quiet adjustments. Behavioral Takeaways: The “niggle” was static, not signal: noticing without reacting. A HALT moment (Hungry, Angry, Late, Tired) ...

Picture of the Week: Fred’s garden, crowned in full weeping cherry bloom. A cascade of white blossoms bows gently over the fence. Overall: A full-spectrum week of growth, visibility, reflection, and renewal. From strategic advances at work to steady rituals in health and home, creative expression deepened while historical and cinematic journeys expanded the mind. Music and writing continue to serve as mirrors and gateways. No work travel - that felt great! Behavioral Takeaways: Visibility flows from clarity, contribution, and connection Repetition with imagination (scales, hydration, writing) deepens transformation. Personal rhythms matter: shifting schedules can restore energy. As much as Bev remains a distraction, I’m keeping engagement minimal and boundaries firm.  NOTES Work: Quietly building Institute 2.0 by creati...

Picture of the Week: At the U.S. Capitol after the DC roundtable, post-“longevity literacy” moment with Senator Kaine’s team — a quiet snapshot of impact Overall: A week that felt like a full arc—travel, performance, reflection, family, advocacy, policy, and presence. I moved across cities, conversations, and contexts, but stayed tethered to what mattered: purpose, care, and clarity. From skiing slopes to Senate floors, from reverse drama to philosophical inquiry, this was a week of wide bandwidth. And yet, coming home on Friday, all I really wanted was a quiet Saturday—and maybe that’s the deepest wisdom of the week. Takeaways from the Week: • Strategic clarity and public recognition peaked this week • Emotional intelligence and boundaries were tested and honored • Leadership showed up not just in front of rooms, but behind closed doors • I found myself moving fluidly between action and reflection, presence and pause • A long-standing philosophical thread reawakened and remi...
