Mar 15 - Week 10

Overall:

A musically rich week, a thought-provoking forum on longevity, and some amusing full-circle moments. Balancing work, home, health, and upcoming travel while keeping things moving forward.

Over the past four months, my collaboration with ChatGPT has become an integral part of work, hobbies, and personal growth—enhancing writing, strategy, journaling, music learning, and time management. As I look ahead, I plan to refine this system with more real-time collaboration, deeper strategic simulations, and expanded pattern recognition to keep optimizing decision-making and creativity.

Takeaways from Week 10:

Longevity planning is evolving beyond just finances—housing, lifestyle, and healthcare are all becoming central themes.

News consumption has dropped dramatically post-election—not just for me, but across my demographic.

Three weeks of travel ahead, with quick pit stops home for laundry resets!

Small wins: Walking improved, but sleep machine and vitamins need work.

A great week for books—new arrivals and a special signed copy.

Looking ahead: refining how I use AI to enhance efficiency, creative output, and decision-making.

Behavioral Takeaways:

Hitting it off in a great business meeting feels just as good as making a great professional connection.

Tech support for family can test patience (Mini’s three-monitor setup saga).

Catherine’s office transfer saga was a reminder that experience is the best teacher!

NOTES:

Work:

Attended the MIT AgeLab Forum on longevity planning, where key themes included financial security, housing innovations, and technology’s role in aging.

Had a great breakfast meeting with Demond Martin, CEO of WellWithAll, discussing Black Longevity and financial well-being.

Catherine, who originally resisted working in Iselin, is now requesting a transfer there after realizing how much time she’d save on her commute!

Home:

Saks purchases from NYC arrived—just in time for upcoming travel.

Got my hair colored (shhh), endured 2.5 hours at the dentist for my crown, and Mini had her skin specialist and neurology visits.

Mini’s three-monitor setup frustration reached a peak—despite getting her a brand-new computer, she was still unsatisfied. Even Rahul had given up! (All is well now? TBD.)

Health & Fitness:

Walking improved—a small but important win!

Sleep machine usage was marginally better, but I need to get back on track.

Vitamin intake was middling.

Music:

Attended my fourth or fifth salon in four years, featuring a mix of classical and contemporary performances. Highlights included:

Tchaikovsky’s String Quartet No. 1, with its Andante cantabile as beautiful as ever.

Ashokan Farewell, which was particularly moving.

I played Scheherazade and Vivaldi’s Autumn (easier, yet somehow spottier?!).

Ralph’s dad reprised the Sarabande from last week’s recital.

TJ sang Sondheim’s “Finishing the Hat”, capturing its bittersweet essence.

Attended a sight-reading workshop at BMS today.

Postponed my Friday class to Sunday to continue learning Pachelbel’s Canon—with my recital 8 weeks away in May, every session counts!

Writing & Reading:

Currently reading Show Don’t Tell by Curtis Sittenfeld (middle of the short stories).

Received a new book authored by James Root at Bain.

Got a signed copy of Longevity Hubs from Joe Coughlin—a great addition to my longevity planning insights!

Social:

Continuing to trade philosophy jokes with Cousin Chay in Sydney—he’s been thoroughly entertained all week!

Sports:

Started watching the PGA season—golf is officially back on my radar.

Now that the Eagles have won, I’m paying more attention to NFL draft season details—tracking players lost, players gained, and upcoming prospects. Winning just makes everything more interesting! 😊

Travel Plans:

Cape Cod rental secured! This marks year 5 since the pandemic. This time, Sunny and I are splitting costs 50-50, doubling our budget for what we hope is a much better house!

Three weeks of travel ahead, with intermittent trips back home (laundry resets will be key!).

Entertainment:

Have been listening to Kevin Nealon stand-up—funny and light!

Watching old TV interviews by Larry King and others.

Larry King had a great story about Gorbachev insisting on speaking at Bush’s birthday.

Also an interesting account of Nixon’s whereabouts on the day of JFK’s assassination.

Picture of the Week:

With AGNES (Age Gain Now Empathy System) at MIT AgeLab—an eye-opening experience in understanding aging and designing better solutions for longevity.
