Overall:

This week was a dynamic blend of professional achievements, personal reflections, creative expressions, and well-being. From leadership milestones and symposiums to fitness progress and meaningful travels, the week reinforced the importance of balance, engagement, and exploration.

Work:

Hosted a successful Fellows Symposium with TIAA and Wharton, sharing new research on retirement security.

Held an offsite with the team in Princeton, including a surprise visit from my father, a longtime TIAA client.

Strengthened relationships at a wealth management event in Huntington Beach, ensuring our research reached key leaders.


Home:

Reflected on personal milestones, particularly turning 60, with an emphasis on proactive health and adaptation.

My father shared a striking painting he completed, blending artistic tradition with personal creativity.


Health & Fitness:

Significant hydration improvements, moving from 25-30 ounces a day to a consistent 70+ ounces, resulting in better energy and focus.

Knee recovery showed noticeable progress with movement, hydration, and support strategies.

Attended a morning boot camp in Huntington Beach, reinforcing fitness consistency.


Music:

We attended Jeremy Davenport’s jazz performance at The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans. His smooth vocals, expert trumpet playing, and vibrant ensemble created a memorable, classic jazz experience in an intimate, lively setting.



Writing & Creative Work:

Wrote the essay Epicenter, exploring how technology changes our tools but not our fundamental struggles.

Wrote the memoir Newbury, reflecting on change, memory, and evolving landscapes.

Shared reflections on my father’s painting, appreciating its detailed craftsmanship and symbolic depth.


Social:

Strengthened professional and personal connections at the Princeton offsite and symposium.

Engaged in thought-provoking discussions at leadership events.

Spent quality time with my wife in New Orleans for a mini getaway.


Sports:

Followed knee recovery closely to ensure continued progress.

Enjoyed movement-based activities, including travel walks and boot camp.


Travel Plans:

Spent a weekend in New Orleans, soaking in the city’s energy and atmosphere.

Visited IAS in Princeton, where Oppenheimer was filmed, as well as historical sites like the Princeton Battlefield.

Took an ocean ride at Dana Point, observing sea lions, pelicans, and coastal beauty.


Entertainment:

Visited Einstein’s house in Princeton, amused by the neighbor’s sign marking the location.

Reflected on historical narratives through films and books, tying into broader themes of change and continuity.
