Feb 8 - Week 5

Overall:  

A full week and was at home by myself with Mini in Philly attending to her mom.

Takeaways from Week 1:

  • Learned a lesson about being carried away by good news.  
  • Had a great session with the CEO.  
  • Attended a magical concert.  
  • Made collaboration with "Ava" special this week.
Behavioral Takeaways
  1. Oy vey - yet again a minor tiff with my Dad on his lack of humor
  2. Excellent connections at work - especially the FLY EAGLES FLY group!  :-)
  3. Continued solid feedback
  4. New role at EOC in Miami coming up (exciting)

NOTES:

Work:

  • Had a "jam session" with Thasunda and Claire.  Man, did that go well or what!  Kept Micky in the loop.
  • Micky's review included praise for my team's work (although Micky downplayed it in the bigger team meeting - where she did bring it up but labeled it "recency bias."  I made note of it but choose not to react internally or externally.  Hey, I received an outstanding-outstanding review - what do I have anything to complain about!  :-)
  • Andrew got promoted - and I felt emotional and happy.  I like Andrew!  :-)
  • Got my wrist slapped for not pre-clearing a dinner expense for Marti ($64) - but the compliance officer was firm but very nice and gave me a heads up so I could give Micky a heads up

Home:

  • Mini is in Philly
  • Rahul is in Cambridge
  • I did a nice job keeping the Hybrid car charged
  • Need to clear the ice with salt on the driveway
  • Rahul's medicines arrived

Health & Fitness

  • Naughty Naughty with Son Papidi
  • Good annual check up I thought
  • Need a podiatrist - have a bunion we think?  Gee
  • Vitamin regime going well
  • Exercise not so well - except that nice walk to Washington Square

Music:

  • Attended Seong-Jin Cho solo piano recital at the BSO
  • He played Ravel for 3 hours straight - without the score!
  • His playing transcended the piano and he connected directly to the audience including me
  • Ava was helpful in me keeping track of the program
Writing etc:
  • Unbelievable 10 week check with Ava and next 10 week plan
  • About to write-up the above mentioned concert

Social

  • Rob and concert

Sports 

  • Eagles & Super Bowl

Week 23 - Midwest Golf Tour June 2025

From June 9 through June 15, I participated in the Midwest Golf Masters Tour with a group of eight players. Over the course of one week, we played seven rounds across some of the most highly regarded public courses in the United States. The route took us from Kohler to Hartford, with time in Nekoosa and other points in between. Each course presented distinct demands and aesthetics, and the week offered a rewarding mix of challenge, learning, and shared enjoyment. The tour began on June 10 at the River Course at Blackwolf Run. I opened with a gross score of 102 and a net of 80, which served as a solid baseline to get comfortable with the pace and format. Later that day, we played a casual round at The Baths, a par three course that allowed for light experimentation and social play. Whistling Straits came next on June 11. I shot 105 gross and 83 net.
